This page describes how we handle sensitive information at Snel Parts — from customer data to company data — and what to do when something goes wrong.

## Respect privacy

We respect the privacy of our customers. For example, do not pass customer names on to suppliers or other potential customers before checking with Ricardo whether that is okay.

A lot falls under 'privacy': anything about a customer or a person, or anything someone else might find 'interesting'. For example which products someone buys, where a customer is based, whether someone has been a customer for a long time, and so on.

## Company data

In some cases you have (limited) access to Snel Parts data, such as order quantities or other financial information. You have that access to do your job as well as possible. Viewing or using this data for anything other than your work is not permitted.

## Device security

- Only work with company data on a managed work device — see [Work devices](https://handboek.snelparts.com/en/work-devices.md).
- Lock your screen when you leave your workspace.
- Do not store passwords in loose documents — see [Accounts & access](https://handboek.snelparts.com/en/accounts-and-access.md).
- Keep security updates current; these are managed centrally, but restart your device when asked.

## What to do when something goes wrong

Report it to Ramon **immediately** if:

- a work laptop or work phone is lost or stolen;
- you come across a suspicious email or phishing attempt;
- you suspect an account or system has been compromised;
- you accidentally shared or leaked sensitive data.

> [!NOTE]
> Reporting quickly is always better than waiting. The sooner a problem is
> known, the sooner it can be contained — there is no blame for reporting a
>   mistake.
